Strip Heaters are an outstanding industrial heating product and are extremely effective in surface heating applications. They are composed of resistance wire, uniformly coiled and stretched inside a ceramic insulator along the length and width of the heater to ensure uniform heating.
The assembly is embedded in a stainless steel sheath to have high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance and is filled with high purity magnesium oxide to remove air pockets and thus providing excellent thermal conductivity and dielectric strength.
For air heating applications, strip heaters are incorporated with fins to maximize surface area to increase heat transfer rates and thus provides faster and more efficient heating. Finned Strip Heaters are used for both forced and natural convection air heating. Continuous spiral fins are permanently furnace brazed to the sheath.

Type 304 Stainless Steel sheath provides physical strength and resistance to high temperatures of up to 1200°F (650°C) and chemical corrosion. Helically wound resistance wire coil made from nickel-chrome wire is evenly stretched and precisely strung through the ceramic insulator, providing uniform heat. A custom mixture of several high purity magnesium oxide grain sizes, chosen to increase thermal conductivity and dielectric strength, are used to fill all remaining space inside and around the ceramic insulator. Channel strip heaters are available with or without mounting tabs. If without, the ends are silver soldered shut to prevent moisture and contaminants from entering the heater. The nickel-plated steel fins (SS optional) are mainly used for both forced air in a duct and natural convection air heating in a cabinet type oven.
Finned Strip Heater is a flexible and reasonable heating source used across a wide range of applications such as surface heating (platens, dies, molds, tanks, piping); process air heating (drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, moisture protection for motors); dropping resistors for line applications in railroads and load banks; winterizing (hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, thawing); original equipment (air conditioning, laboratory equipment, food packaging, ovens, presses, drying equipment).
